How can I request payments from my friends on the Spot app?

Getting paid with Spot is simple! You can ask anyone for a payment, whether they use Spot or not.

- If they are on Spot: They will get a notification showing how much they owe, who it’s for, and a personal note from you. You can see all your payment requests in the wallet section on the home screen.

- If they are not on Spot: They will receive an SMS with a secure link to pay. They can use any South African bank card to make the payment.

Here’s how to send a payment request:

1. Tap ‘request’ under your wallet balance.

2. Choose ‘Send a request to a single person’.

3. Enter the amount and select the person from your contacts.

4. Add a personal note.

5. Tap ‘Request now’.

Note: You can send reminders for unpaid requests. Just go to ‘Sent payment requests', tap the 'request' button, and send a reminder. You can also cancel requests or mark them as paid once you receive the money.

Tip: If your request is accepted, the money will show up in your Spot account right away. If it’s declined, you can always send a new request or reminder!
