How can I request payments from my friends on the Spot app?

It's easy to get paid with Spot’s request feature! You can request a payment from anyone—whether they’re on Spot or not.

If they’re on Spot: The recipient will get a notification with the amount they owe, who it's for, and a personalised note. You can view all your payment requests directly under the wallet section on the home screen.

If they’re not on Spot: They’ll receive an SMS with a secure payment link. They can pay via our gateway using any South African bank card.

Here’s how to send a payment request:

Tap ‘request’ underneath your wallet balance.
Select ‘Send a request to a single person’.
Enter the amount and choose the recipient from your contact list.
Add a personalised note.
Tap ‘Request now’.

Note: You can send reminders to unpaid requests. Just go to the ‘Sent’ payment requests, tap the request, and send a reminder. You can also cancel or mark requests as paid once they’re settled.

Tip: If your request is accepted, the funds will appear instantly in your Spot account. If declined, you can always send a new request or reminder!
