In South Africa, many Android smartphones support the "tap to pay" feature through platforms like Google Pay and Samsung Pay. To utilize this functionality, your device should have Near Field Communication (NFC) capabilities and run a compatible version of the Android operating system.
Key Requirements:
NFC Support: NFC enables your device to communicate with payment terminals for contactless transactions.
Operating System: For Google Pay, devices should run Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher. Samsung Pay is available on Samsung devices running Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) or later.
