What is reFICA?

As required by South African law, we must verify your details every three years to comply with Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA) regulations. Keeping your information updated helps prevent fraud and protects you from financial crimes.

How do I complete the reFICA process?

We’ve made it quick and easy! Simply log into your Spot app and confirm that your details are correct. If anything has changed, you can update it in just a few steps.

  1. Log in to your Spot app using your PIN or Biometrics.
  2. A reFICA notice will appear at the top of your screen.
  3. Tap on the notice to review your personal details, including your mobile number, email address, and physical address.

If your details are still the same:

  1. Tap the acknowledgment message and press the 'Confirm' button.
  2. A success message will appear at the top of your screen.

NB! If your last name has changed, contact our Support team via live chat in the app for assistance.

If your details have changed:

  1. Tap the 'pencil' icon to update your details.
  2. Once updated, tap 'Save'.
  3. Acknowledge that your details are correct and tap 'Confirm’
  4. A success message will appear at the top of your screen.

Once you've confirmed or updated your details, you're all set for the next three years! We’ll remind you again when it’s time to reFICA.
