Since Spot is a money app, we need to ensure that we follow the law. Part of this means that we have to screen your identity with the department of home affairs to comply with FICA requirements.
As such, when verifying yourself, you'll need to present your original South African green/smart ID, driver's license or passport. Our state of the art verification system doesn't accept copies or temporary documents, so you won't be able to verify or activate your account without your original ID document.
