How Can I Make Sure My Spot Card Is Safe?

Modified on Mon, 20 Jan at 7:58 PM

Keeping your Spot card safe is simple with a few smart habits. From choosing a secure PIN to staying vigilant against scams, protecting your card ensures peace of mind. In this guide, we’ll walk you through easy steps to safeguard your account and what to do if something goes wrong. Let’s dive in!

  • Pick a Strong PIN
Avoid obvious numbers like 1234 or 0000. Choose something only you would know.

  • Keep Your PIN Private
Never share your PIN with anyone—even us! Spot will never ask for it, so don’t fall for scams.

  • Don’t Write It Down
Memorize your PIN, and keep it secure.

  • Be Alert at ATMs
Look around before using an ATM. If something doesn’t feel right or someone offers help, be cautious and stay safe.

  • Watch Out for Scammers
If someone claims to be from Spot and asks for your PIN, it’s a scam. Report it to us immediately.

  • Check Your Transactions Often
Regularly review your transaction history to catch anything suspicious.

If you think your card has been used without your permission, you can dispute the transaction right in the app:

  1. Open the Spot app and go to your "transaction history".
  2. Tap the transaction you want to dispute and select Help.
  3. State the transaction that you are querying, and we’ll investigate. We’ll follow up with you via email.
